1️⃣ Chapter Introduction

3️⃣ Basic Concepts

3.1 Term

a₁ = पहला पद
a₂ = दूसरा पद
a₃ = तीसरा पद
...
aₙ = nवाँ पद

  • a₁ = 5
  • a₂ = 10
  • a₃ = 15
  • a₄ = 20

Example: 3, 6, 9, 12, ...

aₙ = a + (n − 1)d

3.3 Common Difference

d = a₂ − a₁ = a₃ − a₂ = a₄ − a₃

d = 11 − 7 = 4

3.4 Common Ratio

r = a₂/a₁ = a₃/a₂ = a₄/a₃

r = 6/2 = 18/6 = 54/18 = 3

4️⃣ Important Definitions

Sequence

Series

Common Difference

Common Ratio

Arithmetic Mean

Geometric Mean

Harmonic Mean

5️⃣ Sequences —

5.1 Finite Sequence

Example: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

5.2 Infinite Sequence

Example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...

5.3 Increasing Sequence

2, 5, 8, 11, ...

5.4 Decreasing Sequence

20, 16, 12, 8, ...

5.5 Constant Sequence

Sequence Series
2, 4, 6, 8, ... 2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + ...
Terms की ordered list Terms का sum
nth term महत्वपूर्ण Sum महत्वपूर्ण

6.2 Sigma Notation

Σ k = 1 + 2 + 3 + ... + n
Σk = n(n+1)/2
Σk² = n(n+1)(2n+1)/6
Σk³ = [n(n+1)/2]²

7️⃣ Arithmetic Progression — AP

a, a+d, a+2d, a+3d, ...

  • a = First Term
  • d = Common Difference
  • n = Number of Terms
  • aₙ = nth Term

7.1 AP का nth Term

aₙ = a + (n − 1)d

Sum

Sₙ = n/2 [2a + (n − 1)d]

Sₙ = n/2 (a + l)

7.3 Last Term

l = a + (n − 1)d

7.4 AP में तीन Terms

a − d, a, a + d

2y = x + z

7.5 AP में चार Terms

a − 3d/2, a − d/2, a + d/2, a + 3d/2

Equidistant Terms

उदाहरण: a₁ + aₙ = a₂ + aₙ₋₁ = a₃ + aₙ₋₂

7.7 AP के Terms का Average

Average = (First Term + Last Term)/2

M = (A+B)/2

d = (B − A)/(n+1)

Position Based Relation

aₙ = a + (n−1)d

aₚ = a + (p−1)d
a_q = a + (q−1)d

a_q − aₚ = (q−p)d

8️⃣ Geometric Progression — GP

a, ar, ar², ar³, ...
  • a = First Term
  • r = Common Ratio
  • n = Number of Terms

8.1 GP का nth Term

aₙ = arⁿ⁻¹

Sum

जब r ≠ 1:

Sₙ = a(rⁿ − 1)/(r − 1)

Equivalent form:

Sₙ = a(1 − rⁿ)/(1 − r)

Sₙ = na

8.4 Infinite GP

|r| < 1

S∞ = a/(1−r)

Terms

a/r, a, ar

b² = ac

8.6 Geometric Mean

दो positive numbers a और b का GM:

GM = √(ab)

r = (B/A)^(1/(n+1))

Equidistant Terms

a₁ × aₙ = a₂ × aₙ₋₁ = a₃ × aₙ₋₂

8.9 GP के Terms का Product

Product = aⁿ r^[n(n−1)/2]

एक useful form:

Product of all terms = (√(First Term × Last Term))ⁿ

9️⃣ Harmonic Progression — HP

1/a, 1/b, 1/c

a, b, c

HP में होंगे।

9.1 तीन Terms HP में

यदि a, b, c HP में हैं:

1/a, 1/b, 1/c

AP में होंगे।

2/b = 1/a + 1/c
b = 2ac/(a+c)
Memory Trick:
AP → Difference समान
GP → Ratio समान
HP → Reciprocal लेने पर AP

9.2 Harmonic Mean

दो positive numbers a और b का harmonic mean:

HM = 2ab/(a+b)

Reciprocals = 1/6, 1/3, 1/2

10.1 Arithmetic Mean

AM = (a+b)/2

10.2 Geometric Mean

GM = √ab

10.3 Harmonic Mean

HM = 2ab/(a+b)

10.4 AM-GM-HM Relationship

AM ≥ GM ≥ HM

(a+b)/2 ≥ √ab ≥ 2ab/(a+b)

Equality

a = b

GM² = AM × HM

🔴 11️⃣ Advanced Concepts

Feature AP GP HP
Reciprocals AP
General form a+(n−1)d arⁿ⁻¹ Reciprocal AP
मुख्य parameter d r Reciprocal difference
Mean AM GM HM

11.2 AP में Term Relations

aₘ + aₙ = aₚ + a_q

जब:

m+n = p+q

Term Relations

aₘ × aₙ = aₚ × a_q

जब:

m+n = p+q

11.4 AP में Middle Term

Middle Term = (First + Last)/2

11.5 AP के Sum में Useful Relation

Sₙ = n/2(a+l)

Average = Sₙ/n = (a+l)/2

S∞ = a/(1-r),   |r| < 1

11.7 Telescoping Type Series

11.8 Arithmetic-Geometric Series

a + (a+d)r + (a+2d)r² + (a+3d)r³ + ...
